CEO of PALTEL Group
Mr. Ammar Aker is the Palestine Telecom Group CEO and a member of Paltel Group’s Board of Directors. Notably, Paltel Group is the second largest employer in Palestine (after the Government).
Prior to assuming his current position as Group CEO, he was the CEO of the Palestine Cellular Communications Co. Ltd., Jawwal, the first leading cellular operator in Palestine.
Mr. Aker is currently the chairman of the board of directors of VTEL Middle East and Africa (MEA). He is a member of the board for the Palestine Development and Investment Company (PADICO Holding), the largest investment holding company in the country, in addition to his representation on the board of directors of its subsidiaries. He is also currently a member on the board of trustees for An-Najah National University.
Mr. Aker is an active board member in a number of international, regional and local initiatives such as; Palestine for a New Beginning (PNB); The Palestine International Award for Excellence and Creativity; Mahmoud Darwish Foundation; in addition to the Amideast Advisory Board in Palestine. He is also an active member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) Palestine Branch and the Palestinian Businessmen Association (PBA).
Mr. Aker holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania and an MSc degree in Accounting from Kent State University, Ohio.

He holds a master’s degree in information technology and a bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, with experience in computing, network systems, the management and regulation of communications for more than 27 years. He worked for several years in the academic field and has a long training experience in computer systems and networks. He has such various experiences in the field of institutional development. He chaired the E-government strategic plan preparation committee, and supervised the preparation of the national strategy for information and communication technology, he provided technical support and advice to many governmental, academic and civil institutions, Dr. Suhail has participated in many local and international conferences, and published many researches, studies and working papers.

Mohamed has graduated from Arab Academy in Science and technology he studied computer science as a Computer Engineer in Alexandria. He began his career establishing his own company , he is Currently working as a Regional Manager at Paltel, Eng.Mohamed is widely known for his Ideas , thoughts and shares in the High tech , While his engagements in the social activities as a previous PITA Board member are respected and known.

Shaaban has accumulated a wide
range of experiences in mobile and
corporate strategy and
management, strategic commercial
management, digital transformation
and business development. This
experience was enhanced with high
standard education and training,
exposure to regional and
international business telecom
trends, as well as strong knowledge
of echo system impact. His multiple
experiences have assisted him to
manage commercial and operational
setup of telecom companies and
sector through being an influencer
player and stakeholder.
